Engr. Md. Jahirul Islam Khan is a seasoned engineering and project management professional with over 22 years of expertise in infrastructure development, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. He currently serves as Managing Director of Grameen Construction Limited, where he oversees the planning, design, and execution of major development projects across the Grameen Group.
In parallel, he holds leadership positions as General Manager of Grameen Telecom Trust, Trustee and Secretary of Grameen University, Board Director of Grameen Distribution Limited, and Board Director of Grameen Water Ltd. He is also an active member of several key strategic committees, including the Advisory, Technical, and Management Committees of Samajik Hospital, Medical College & Health Research Institute. Furthermore, he serves as Member Secretary of the Project Implementation Assisting Committee of the Grameen Group, contributing to the successful implementation of its strategic infrastructure initiatives.
Renowned for driving flagship infrastructure developments, Engr. Khan has successfully led landmark projects such as the 13-storey Telecom Bhaban (USD 22 million), the Samajik Convention Centre (USD 6 million, 2,500-seat capacity), and the Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing (USD 15 million, 900-seat capacity). He is currently spearheading transformative mega projects with a combined value of nearly USD 350 million, including the 700-bed Samajik Hospital, Samajik Medical College (500-seat capacity), Samajik Health Technology Institute, and the Phase II expansion of the Samajik Convention Centre, which includes a Hospitality Management Institute.
Academically, Engr. Khan holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Management Information Systems (MIS). He is also a Life Fellow of The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
